Rules of TEI XML MarkUp in This Project We use the Arabic script but transliteration into Latin characters follows the Library of Congress (LOC) Arabic transliteration chart. Each individual article has an individual xml:id number starting with "w1" We only use persName, orgName, placeName elements, apart from bibliographical elements and notes. If the location or organization of responsibility is known from the text, it can be added in an attribute to a persName. "Mashaykhah" and "thumn" are orgNames and placeNames. This project's schema considers Till Grallert's work in his Open Arabic Periodical Editions. 𐋢 𐋤 Arabic English Arabic transcribed according to ALA-LC Ottoman ٨ ذى القعدة ١٢٤٥ ١ مايو ١٨٣٠ نمرة ١٤٠ صفحة ٢ -٣ حوادث الديوان الخديوى فى ٩ رمضان جوده العتال من بنى سند من احكام منفلوط والحاج ابراهيم الدلال فى سوق السلاح والحاج محمد المغربى جاؤا الى الديوان الخديوى بمعرفة باش اغا فقال جوده انه فى اول شهر شعبان ذهبت الى بواب وكالة الحلوانى المحاذيةللازهر حيث كان قريبا من مكانى وبت عنده ليلة وقت صباحا فرايت ان قد سرق معى شال وطربوش وحزام صوفا ولباس وورقة لاجل الفرده واخرى لاجل البوابه وبعد اربعة ايام رايت شالى فى يد هذا الدلال فى سوق السلاح فمسكته وذهبت به الى باش اغا وهو ارسلنا الى هنا فسئل الدلال عن ذلك انه منذ خمسة وثلاثين يوما اتى الى هذا المغربى بشال فبعته باربعة قروش فاعطانى عشرة فضيات دلالية ثم طلبت منه ضمانا فذهبت الى ربع فى سوق الفحامين وقال لى انا ساكن فى هذا المحل فلا تك فى مرية من نحوى وبعد اربعة ايام راى الشال واخذ يقول هذا شالى ثم ذهب بى الى باش اغا فسئل المغربى فقال انى اشتريت فى اول شعبان شالا من احمد الدمياطى فى سوق المويد بـثلاثة قروش وعشر فضيات وعباة بـاحد عشر قرشا بحضور الحاج حسين القهوجى فقال نعم انى رايته قد اشترى عباة سودا من هذا الدلال بـاحدى عشر قرشا وخمس فضيات وانما لا علم لى بمشترالشال فعرض ذلك لحضرة مأمور الديوان الخديوى فقال ليعط الشال لصاحبه واليعط تذكرة للحاج محمد بالذهاب الى بلده وليصرف النظر عن تأديبه الان وان كان لصا لكونه مضنى بداء المبارك حتى كاد ان يموت منه وانما ينبه عليه انه اذا رجع من بلده لبى هذه النواحى يقتل قتلا فاعطى له تذكرة بموجب الامر وتم الامر على هذا المنوال.
