Rules of TEI XML MarkUp in This Project We use the Arabic script but transliteration into Latin characters follows the Library of Congress (LOC) Arabic transliteration chart. Each individual article has an individual xml:id number starting with "w1" We only use persName, orgName, placeName elements, apart from bibliographical elements and notes. If the location or organization of responsibility is known from the text, it can be added in an attribute to a persName. "Mashaykhah" and "thumn" are orgNames and placeNames. This project's schema considers Till Grallert's work in his Open Arabic Periodical Editions. 𐋢 𐋤 Arabic English Arabic transcribed according to ALA-LC Ottoman ٢ رمضان ١٢٤٥ ٢٥ فبراير ١٨٣٠ نمرة ١١٤ صفحة ٢ حوادث مصر الجبال التى بعضها فى غرب مصر المحروسة وبعضها فى شمالها وهى مجهولة البداية وداهية عظيمة لها حيث اذا هبت الرياح العاصفة يرتفع غبارها الى كرة النار بل الى السماء الاولى تخطف منه الابصار وتكفهر كرة الليل والنهار فكان حول مصر مهمه مقبرة ارجاؤه كان لون ارضه سماؤه وتغيير اهل مصر ومن حولها فكانهم يتمنون ان يعطوا ارواحهم بدلا عن النقد لو وجد طريق لدفع هذه الداهية فلذا ابراهيم باشا طال بقاه ونال ما يتمناه اراد ان يقلع تلك الجبال لكى ينال بهذه اعمال الخيرية فوقتما وجد سعادته فى موره رفع بمعرفة على افندى كاتب الخزينة الجبل الذى بين القصر العالى وبين المحروسة وهو جبل عظيم اسمه كوم العقارب وطوله تسعة فدادين ومايتان وثلاثة وثلاثون قصبة فرفع بان يوضع فى العربات ورمى الى الاغوار واشتغل فيه ثلاثماية واربعة وتسعون فاعلا فى ثلاثمائة وثلاثة و تسعين يوما واما الجبل الاخر اسمه ابو الشماط وهو كالجبل الشامخ مبداؤه من باب النصريه ومنتهاه الى محل قريب من القصر العالى طوله ثمانية وثلاثون فدانا ومائة و خمسة و تسعون قصبة وكل قصبة ستة اذرع وسدس والفدان ثلاثمائة وثلاثة و ثلاثون قصبة وسدس وهو مشتمل على مضرة فرفع بمعرفة الافندى المومى اليه قدر منه فى ثمانمائة وسبعة ايام بفعلة قدرهم ثلاثمائة و خمسة وسبعون فلما جاء افندينا المشار اليه من موره احال رفع الباقى على جوقدار اغا وهو رفع كله فى مائتين واحدى وثلاثين يوما بفعلة قدرهم خمسمائة واثنى واربعون فاعلا وبلغ مصارف هذين الجبلين الى الف و سبعماية واحدى وعشرين كيسا ومائتين واثنى وعشرين قرشا والان لو راى محلها يظن كان لم يكن شيئا وغرست فيها اشجار الزيتون وغيرها واثرت خاصة اسم ابراهيم فصارت معمورة بها.
