Rules of TEI XML MarkUp in This Project We use the Arabic script but transliteration into Latin characters follows the Library of Congress (LOC) Arabic transliteration chart. Each individual article has an individual xml:id number starting with "w1" We only use persName, orgName, placeName elements, apart from bibliographical elements and notes. If the location or organization of responsibility is known from the text, it can be added in an attribute to a persName. "Mashaykhah" and "thumn" are orgNames and placeNames. This project's schema considers Till Grallert's work in his Open Arabic Periodical Editions. 𐋢 𐋤 Arabic English Arabic transcribed according to ALA-LC Ottoman ١٧ شعبان ١٢٤٥ ١١ فبراير ١٨٣٠ نمرة ١٠٩ صفحة ٢ لما لزم انشا انشاء دفترخانه لاجل حفظ دفاتر الاقاليم ودواوين المحروسة تعلقت الارادة السنية بان تنشا تنشاء فى محاذاة باب قلعة مصر الجديد فتم انشاوها على موجب الارادة فى اواخر سنة اربع واربعين والان قد نظم الخواجه يوحنا كاتب المصروف لايحة وقدمها الى المجلس العالى مضمونها ان الدفاتر التى توضع فيها نظمت بابا بابا وجعل لكل باب منها فهرسة حتى اذا لزم كشف مصلحة استخراج كشفها منها من دون تاخير ولدى المذاكره قالوا يلزم ان تقسم خدمة تلك الدفترخانه على اربع اصناف ولكل صنف يخصص كاتب ماهر ومساعد له مستعد وينصب عليهم احد ناظرا ممن يعتمد عليه ويجعل كيسه دار ممن يقتدر على حل اصولها وفروعها فلذا رسموا ان ينصب راغب افندى ناظر الضربخانه سابقا ناظرا على الدفترخانه المذكورة ويحال انتخاب الكتبة على عهدة الخواجه يوحنا وتفوض نظارة الضربخانه على عهدة يحيى افندى معاون الخزينة العامره بدا من غرة شعبان واذ تقرر الرأى على ذلك اثبت فى الوقايع.
