Rules of TEI XML MarkUp in This Project We use the Arabic script but transliteration into Latin characters follows the Library of Congress (LOC) Arabic transliteration chart. Each individual article has an individual xml:id number starting with "w1" We only use persName, orgName, placeName elements, apart from bibliographical elements and notes. If the location or organization of responsibility is known from the text, it can be added in an attribute to a persName. "Mashaykhah" and "thumn" are orgNames and placeNames. This project's schema considers Till Grallert's work in his Open Arabic Periodical Editions. 𐋢 𐋤 Arabic English Arabic transcribed according to ALA-LC Ottoman ١٦ شعبان ١٢٤٥ ١٠ فبراير ١٨٣٠ نمرة ١٠٨صفحة ١ موضع حجر التاريخ فوق باب الدفترخانة التى تعلقت الارادة السنية بانشئها فى محاذات باب قلعة مصر الجديد بقى من دون تاريخ فمست الحاجة الى تاريخ له كما اخبر بذلك مرة بعد مرة محمد امين افندى ناظر الابنية الميرية ولذا نظم الان كاشف افندى تاريخا بالعبارة التركية كما هو مسطر فى اعلاه وعرض الى مجلس المشورة ان هذا التاريخ المنتظم اثر قلم الحقير فان كان وضعه فى ذلك الموضع مناسبا ينبغى ان يحفر اولا فى حجر ثم يوضع والرأى فى ذلك لحضرة اهل المجلس ولدى المذكرة قالوا ان لفظة تعمية صو يبلغ عدد حرفيها ستة و تسعين وعلى حسب اختلاف افهام الناس ترى لبعضهم انها اكثر من المقصود فى التاريخ غير ان بعض الاشعار الفارسيه يدل على تحسين هذه اللفظة فلذا رسموا بان يحفر التاريخ المذكور فى حجر ويوضع واذا استقر الرأى على ذلك اثبت فى الوقايع لاحقه كاشف افندى رئيس كتبة الوقايع نظم هذا التاريخ مشتملا على نوع من انواع البديع وهو المعمى وان كان بسبب ذلك زاد عن المقصود الا انه من حيث قد حوى التورية التى هى نوع عظيم من صنايع البديع سومح فيه.
