Rules of TEI XML MarkUp in This Project We use the Arabic script but transliteration into Latin characters follows the Library of Congress (LOC) Arabic transliteration chart. Each individual article has an individual xml:id number starting with "w1" We only use persName, orgName, placeName elements, apart from bibliographical elements and notes. If the location or organization of responsibility is known from the text, it can be added in an attribute to a persName. "Mashaykhah" and "thumn" are orgNames and placeNames. This project's schema considers Till Grallert's work in his Open Arabic Periodical Editions. 𐋢 𐋤 Arabic English Arabic transcribed according to ALA-LC Ottoman ١١ جمادى الاخر ١٢٤٧١٧ نوفمبر ١٨٣١ نمرة ٣١٧صفحة ٤ حوادث الديوان الخديوى فى اليوم الرابع والعشرين من شهر ربيع الاخر وردت صحيفة من معاون البيك الضابط مضمونها ان رجلا من سكان الحسينية اسمه الحاج فرج واخر شيخ حارة اسمه عويس واخر اسمه اسماعيل جاوا اليه بسبب انه جرت بينهم دعوى فلذا ارسلهم الى الديوان مع رجل من جماعة قللق الموسكى اسمه محمد فسئل الحاج فرج فقال انا علاف فى الخرنفش وساكن فى الحسينية وانى اغلقت دكانى ليلة امس وذهبت الى بيتى واقفلت الباب ورقدت وقمت صباحا فوجدت امتعتى قد سرقت فاخبرت وكيل الضابط بهذا فارسل معى ابراهيم البصاص وانى اظن ان عويسا شيخ الحارة واسماعيل وحسنا هم الذين اخذوا امتعتى فقيل له ما هى الاشيا التى سرقت منك فقال صينيتان من التحاس و دستان وحلتان كبيرتان وهاون وطست وبرقعان فيهيما قصبتان من ذهب فسئل شيخ الحارة فقال انا شيخ الشارع بناحية الدميرى فى الحسينية وانى سمعت فى هذا اليوم بان قد سرق امتعة هذا الرجل فاخبرت شيخ الثمن بذلك فارسلنى معه الى بيت الضابط وجينا من ثم برجل من البصاصين ولا علم لى بشئ غير هذا فسئل اسماعيل فقال انا من مصر وان شيخ الحارة هذا جعلتى خفيرا مع حسين وانه فى الساعة الخامسة من الليلة البارحة مر علينا القول ثم رقدنا ولما استيقظنا صباحا جاء الحج فرج وقبض علينا وهو يقول انتما سرقتما امتعتى فسئل حسن فقال كما قال اسماعيل فسئل البصاص فقال انى اتيت من بيت الضابط مع هذا الرجل الذى ادعى بسرقة امتعته وذهبت الى بيته فوجدت الباب سالما ولكنه قد رفع حجر كبير من تحت العتبة ففتحت الباب ودخلت فوجدت اوضة ورا الباب ضبتها مكسورة وان الاشيا سرقت منها فقيل للحاج فرج هل لك سبة فى غير هؤلاء الرجال فقال نعم فى احد جيرانى المسمى بعويس ايضا فاحضر وسئل فقال ليس لى علم بشئ من هذا فكرر السؤال من المذكورين فلم يحصل نتيجة من كلامهم فالقوا فى السجن جميعا وفى اليوم التسع من شهر جمادى الاولى سنة الف ومائتين وسبع واربعتن جاء شيخ ثمن باب الشعرية المسمى احمد عجيبه وقال انه وزع بعض من قمصان الجهادية على الخياطين الذين فى حارة شيخ الحارة المذكورة واستدعى بان يرسل الى حارته وبعد مدة يعود الى الديوان فارسل معه وفى اليوم الثانى والعشرين من الشهر المذكور جا مشيخ الحارة واحضر المدعى وارسل الجميع الى الشرع الشريف.
