Rules of TEI XML MarkUp in This Project We use the Arabic script but transliteration into Latin characters follows the Library of Congress (LOC) Arabic transliteration chart. Each individual article has an individual xml:id number starting with "w1" We only use persName, orgName, placeName elements, apart from bibliographical elements and notes. If the location or organization of responsibility is known from the text, it can be added in an attribute to a persName. "Mashaykhah" and "thumn" are orgNames and placeNames. This project's schema considers Till Grallert's work in his Open Arabic Periodical Editions. 𐋢 𐋤 Arabic English Arabic transcribed according to ALA-LC Ottoman ٢١ صفر ١٢٤٦١١ أغسطس ١٨٣٠ نمرة ١٧٦صفحة ١ حوادث الديوان الخديوى فى غرة محرم جاءت الست قرنفله الساكنة فى التبانه الى الديوان الخديوى وقالت اننى استأجرت اوضة فى منزلاحمد الصابونجى بالتبانة وسكنت فيها مذ منذ ثمانية ايام واذ كانت راقدة على السطح واذا برضوان ابن اخت احمد اتى وقت الفجر وفتح باب المنزل ثم ذهب فدخلت اوضتى فرأيت صندوقى مفتوحا وقد سرق منه خمس عشرة ضفيره وخمس واربعون ماسوره تحت كل واحدة منها ربيعة فندقلية وسرق ايضا ثلاثمامائة برقة ذهبا ففتشت على رضوان فلم اره فسألت زوجته وخاله فلم يخبرانى فسئلا فى الديوان فقالا ذهب وقت الفجر ولا نعلم الى اين فنبه عليهما بان ياتيا به الى الديوان وامهلا ثلاثة ايام وفى اليوم الثالث والعشرين اتى على ريحان شيخ ثمن الدرب الاحمر برضوان وقال ها قد اتيت به فسئل رضوان عن امر الصيغة فقال ليس لى علم بذلك ولا خبر وما ذلك الا افتراء على فقيل له لماذا هربت فقال انا لم اهرب وانما لى خال فى المنصورة ذهبت اليه لاتى بمؤنة من عنده فقيل له لم لما لم تخبر اهل منزلك وخالك بذلك فسكت فهدد وخوف فلم يجب بشئ الا ان قال لم ار شيأ ولم اخذ شيأ فمن اجل ذلك القى فى السجن ولما لم يكن شهود ولا اثبات ولا دليل على انه سرق ارسل للشرع فى اليوم السابع من صفر.
