Rules of TEI XML MarkUp in This Project We use the Arabic script but transliteration into Latin characters follows the Library of Congress (LOC) Arabic transliteration chart. Each individual article has an individual xml:id number starting with "w1" We only use persName, orgName, placeName elements, apart from bibliographical elements and notes. If the location or organization of responsibility is known from the text, it can be added in an attribute to a persName. "Mashaykhah" and "thumn" are orgNames and placeNames. This project's schema considers Till Grallert's work in his Open Arabic Periodical Editions. 𐋢 𐋤 Arabic English Arabic transcribed according to ALA-LC Ottoman ٤ جمادى الاول ١٢٦٣ ٢٠ ابريل ١٨٤٧ نمرة ٦١ صفحة ١ الحوادث الداخليه لما كانت الطرق التى خارج المحروسة قد اكتسبت فى ايام ولى النعم كل المحاسن واللطافة وكان من الجملة ان الاكوام المتراكمة الشبيهة بالجبال الحاصلة من هدم الابنية القديمة قد ازيلت من الطريق الجديدة التى ما بين الازبكية وبولاق وحصلت تسوية تلك الطريق حتى اعتدلت وغرست الاشجار المتنوعة على حافتيها يمينا وشمالا وانشئت فيها السواقى اللازمة اقتضى الحال عمل باب جديد بصنعة اوروبا عوضا عن باب الحديد وباب قنطرة الدكة اللذين فى تلك الجادة وازالة هذين البابين القديمين حيث لا لزوم لهما وقد تعلقت الارادة الخديوية بأنشاء هذا الباب على مقتضى صنعة اوروبا لتكون تلك الطريق مزخرفة بكل رونق شريق وقد رسم بمعرفة لينان بيك اميرالالاى ناظر قلم الهندسة بديوان المدارس صورة بناء هذا الباب وبعث بها الى ديوان الابنية الميرية ليجرى العمل على مقتضاها.
